Is Brahmayugam a copy of Light House?

Brahmayugam

Mammootty’s latest offering, Bramayugam, has taken the Malayalam cinemascape by storm since its global theatrical release on February 15th. The film has garnered widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike, with its mesmerizing visuals and captivating performances leaving a lasting impression.

The cast comprises Mammootty portraying Kunjamon Poti, with Arjun Ashokan as Theevaan, alongside Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz, and Manikandan R. Achari.

But reportedly, Mammootty’s Bramayugam looks more familiar with Film Light House. The Lighthouse is a 2019 film directed and produced by Robert Eggers. It is a horror film and a psychological thriller.

Here is why Mammootty’s Bramayugam looks more familiar than Light House.

The Lighthouse is a story set in the 18th century, whereas Brahmayugam is from the 17th century. Also, both movies were shot in black-and-white tones. In the lighthouse, there were only two leading roles. Here in Brahmayugam, three prominent roles were portrayed.

Both movies have a small aspect ratio. We can see two mermaid scenes in the lighthouse, whereas, in Brahmayugam, the day is seen twice. The entire film revolves around the lighthouse. In the same way, the whole movie of Brahmayugam takes place in a big mansion. Both the films, Lighthouse and Brahmayugam, have the same pattern, like locked upstairs, psych lead, along with slavery and casteism.
