Is Liger One of All-Time Flops?

Released amidst huge expectations, Liger has disappointed the audience and Rowdy star fans a big time. The film is moving fast towards joining the list of all-time disasters. In the four-day long weekend, the film has collected a share of just Rs 25 Crores which is obviously a complete failure of the project. Irrespective of the talk on the first day, the film’s collections were good on the first day. But the negativity on the movie and bad word of mouth resulted in the decline of collections all over India. Dharma Productions and Puri Connects banners have jointly bankrolled the project. As per the trade reports, the theatrical rights were sold for around Rs 90 Crores. For the first weekend, it’s just Rs Crores, and a lot many crores are needed for the movie to reach the break-even mark.

As per the current trend, Liger might see losses up to Rs 60 Crores, says the trade sources. If this is true, the movie might join the list of all-time disaster lists in the Telugu film industry. Earlier, Tollywood has the disasters like Acharya, Radhe Shyam, Agnyathavasi, Saaho, etc on the all-time list. Liger might definitely reach that list. This is an unwanted development for Vijay Deverakonda, who is aiming for a pan-India star image. His fans are hoping for Kushi and Janagana Mana to bring Rowdy back on the success track. The collections of Liger on the first weekend stand like this. Nizam: Rs 5.70 Crores, Ceded: Rs 1.80 Crores, Guntur: Rs 0.93 Crores, East Godavari: Rs 0.77 Crores, West Godavari: Rs 0.58 Crores, Krishna: Rs 0.69 Crores, Nellore: Rs 0.53 Crores, UA: 1.65 Crores, AP/TS Total: 12.65 Crores, KA+TN+KL: Rs 2 Crores, Hindi Belt: Rs 7 Crores, Overseas: Rs 3.5 Crores. Total WW Share: Rs 25.15 Crores
