Tollywood hero Vijay Devarakonda’s ‘Liger’ is one of the recent films that is making a lot of noise both in Tollywood and Bollywood. Adding fuel to the expectations on the film, the movie team is leaving no stone unturned to promote the movie.
Meanwhile, many Telugu audiences are comparing Liger with one of Puri’s past films. We know that, in the year 2003, Puri Jagganath scored a blockbuster with ‘Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi’ starring Ravi Teja. Now many are opinionating that Vijay Deverakonda-starrer ‘Liger’ and Ravi Teja’s “‘Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi”, both directed by Puri Jagannath have many similarities.
Mainly, after the film’s trailer was unveiled, fans pointed out similarities between Liger’s plot and Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi’s Plot, which chronicles the story of a passionate kickboxer, whose life revolves around his mother and his girlfriend.
While the same question was asked to Vijay Deverakonda about the plot similarities, Vijay said, ”We are doing a form of mixed martial arts called MMA Fighting, which is quite different from kickboxing. I have watched ‘Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi’ many times. Yes, there is mother-son sentiment but the film is a lot more than that. Other than that, there are no similarities between the two films”.
The actor also added that he won’t do remakes and all the audience will understand that by watching Liger movie in theatres.
