Jennifer Lopez’s Vegas Residency in Jeopardy

Jennifer Lopez’s highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, initially valued at a staggering $90 million, is facing uncertainty due to disappointing ticket and album sales. The singer, who was set to return to Sin City for a record-breaking series of concerts, might see her plans crumble if current trends continue.

Vegas Residency on Shaky Ground

Insiders reveal that Lopez’s residency deal with the MGM Grand is at risk. Despite her reputation as a top performer, her recent ticket sales have been underwhelming. An insider told The Post, “MGM is watching her not doing well on the road. They are very nervous.” The initial agreement projected Lopez earning around $1 million per show across 90 concert dates in 2025. However, the source added, “It’s pretty rare you have a poor tour and then go to Vegas,” indicating MGM’s hesitation to finalize the deal.

Album Sales Disappoint

Lopez’s ninth studio album, This is Me Now…, failed to make a significant impact, debuting at No. 38 on the Billboard 200. This was a stark contrast to her 2002 album This Is Me … Then, which produced major hits like “Jenny From the Block” and “All I Have.” The underperformance of her latest album has added to the uncertainty surrounding her Vegas residency.

Potential Adjustments to the Deal

Given the poor pre-booking sales, insiders suggest that Lopez’s Las Vegas shows might not be as lucrative as planned. Instead of the initially proposed $1 million per show, she might receive a reduced amount, potentially around $600,000 per show, with fewer total performances. Another source mentioned that the deal was never “officially signed” and that discussions are ongoing.

Upcoming Tour and Personal Challenges

Lopez is gearing up for her highly anticipated tour titled This Is Me…Live, previously known as This Is Me…Now, set to begin in June. However, her personal life has been tumultuous. Reports of marital troubles with husband Ben Affleck have surfaced, with rumors of the couple heading for divorce. Affleck’s recent move from their shared Beverly Hills mansion to a rental property in Brentwood further fueled speculation.

The couple, who rekindled their romance and married in 2022, have not been seen together publicly for about a month. They recently appeared together at one of their children’s school events, but multiple sources have noted “trouble in paradise.” Despite the rumors, neither Lopez nor Affleck has publicly addressed their marital issues, focusing instead on their respective careers.
