Jitendra Kumar Reveals How ‘Jeetu Bhaiya’ Became His Identity

Jitendra Kumar, widely known for his roles in series like “Panchayat” and “Kota Factory,” recently opened up about being addressed as ‘Jeetu Bhaiya.’ The actor, who was seen in “Kota Factory: Season 3” released on Netflix on June 20, has become synonymous with his screen name, Jeetu. In an interview with Mashable India, Jitendra shared his thoughts on the affectionate term.

“Logon ko lagta hai Jeetu hai toh Jeetu ke saath kya bulaayein…Bhaiya mein ek alag emotion aur respect hai toh woh dono mil jaati hai (People often feel that he is Jeetu but wonder about adding another word to it. ‘Bhaiya’ has an emotion and respect, so I receive them both),” Jitendra said. He also mentioned that sometimes it’s confusing whether people are calling him or his character, stating, “Woh mujhe bula rahe hain ya character ko bula rahe hain bada confusion ho jaata hai kai baar (Sometimes, I get confused if they are calling me or my character).”

The Lucky Charm of ‘Jeetu Bhaiya’

Jitendra Kumar further shared that ‘Jeetu Bhaiya’ has been a lucky charm for his career. He elaborated on how the term has become his identity, explaining that while his name is Jeetu, the ‘Bhaiya’ part was added by the audience. He expressed his amazement at how the term ‘Jeetu Bhaiya’ has become popular and resonated with people, contributing to his success.

In the popular series “Kota Factory,” Jitendra plays Jeetu Bhaiya, a Physics lecturer and founder of the AIMERS Institute. The series, produced by Arunabh Kumar for The Viral Fever, is set in Kota, Rajasthan, an educational hub for IIT coaching centers. The first season was released in 2019, followed by the second season on Netflix in 2021, and the third season has been available on Netflix since June 20, 2024.

Jitendra Kumar’s Career Highlights

Jitendra Kumar began his career with TVF in 2012, first appearing in “Munna Jazbaati: The Q-tiya Intern” in 2013. He has also starred in series like “Permanent Roommates,” “TVF Bachelors,” “Bisht Please!,” and “TVF Tripling.” In “TVF Pitchers,” he played Jitendra Maheshwari, a frustrated corporate employee, alongside Naveen Kasturia, Arunabh Kumar, and Abhay Mahajan.

Jitendra made his film debut with “Shuruat Ka Interval” in 2014 and later starred in “Gone Kesh” with Shweta Tripathi in 2019. His notable Bollywood works include “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan,” “Chaman Bahaar,” and “Jaadugar.” He became a household name with “Kota Factory” and received acclaim for his role as Abhishek Tripathi in “Panchayat.”

Looking ahead, Jitendra Kumar is expected to make a cameo in “Mirzapur Season 3,” further solidifying his presence in the industry.
