John Abraham and Sharvari’s film Vedaa Release Date Postponed?

The highly anticipated action thriller “Vedaa.” Stars John Abraham and Sharvari, was slated for a theatrical release on August 15, 2024. However, the film is currently facing significant hurdles. As the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has delayed granting it a certification. The makers of the film announced this setback by releasing an official statement on their social media accounts.

Uncertainty Surrounds “Vedaa” Release Due to CBFC Delays

In a statement released on July 25, the producers of “Vedaa” expressed their frustration over the delay by the CBFC. The film’s producers, Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment. Revealed that they had submitted the film for certification well in advance but have still encountered obstacles. The statement highlighted the ongoing challenges and lack of clarity provided by the CBFC, causing uncertainty around the film’s scheduled release.

Producers Seek Clarity on Certification Process

The film, starring John Abraham, was screened by the CBFC on June 25. However, it was then referred to a revising committee without any clear explanation being given to the makers. The producers have claimed that they have been relentlessly seeking clarity since then but have received no response. This lack of communication has left the team in a state of limbo. Unable to move forward with their release plans.

Official Statement from the Producers

The producers’ statement read, “We, the producers of Vedaa, feel compelled to share with our fans & supporters that despite our best efforts, we are still to secure a clearance and certification from the CBFC of India.” They emphasized that they had adhered to all protocols, applying for certification well before the prescribed eight weeks prior to release. Despite these efforts, the film was referred to a revising committee without any explanation of the examining committee’s concerns or objections.

Confidence in the System Despite Delays

Despite the unusual delay, the producers expressed their faith in the system.  Confident that the CBFC will eventually grant the necessary certification. The statement further added, “Since then, we have waited patiently for a revising committee to be constituted, impressed on all respected and honourable office bearers, and repeatedly documented our appeal for certification, consideration, or even an explanation. Despite this unusual delay, we have full faith in the system in place and are confident that the CBFC will oblige us rightfully.”

Awaiting Resolution for “Vedaa” Release

“Vedaa” is set to arrive in theatres on August 15, 2024, featuring John Abraham and Sharvari. The film also stars Abhishek Banerjee and is directed by Nikkhil Advani.
