John Abraham’s Perspective

In a recent interview with Radio City, John Abraham shared his thoughts on Vedaa’s performance. He emphasized that the film’s message is more important than its commercial success. “We’ve told it in an entertaining way, but there’s no getting around the fact that the subject is heavy,” John said, acknowledging that audiences might shy away from films with serious themes. He respects their choice but believes it’s crucial to address such subjects.

Pride in Vedaa: Despite the underwhelming box office numbers, John expressed immense pride in Vedaa. He considers it his and Nikkhil’s best work together. “Often, there’s regret when your film doesn’t work commercially. You feel bad. Usually, it stems from uncertainty about the film itself. But with Vedaa, we’ve got practically everything right,” he stated. John praised the cast’s performances and credited the crew for their exceptional work in cinematography and action sequences. He also addressed the criticism regarding the screenplay, respecting everyone’s opinions.

Box Office Comparison

As of now, Vedaa has earned approximately ₹18.50 crores at the box office. In comparison, Khel Khel Mein has garnered around ₹21 crores. However, Stree 2 has emerged as a juggernaut, significantly outperforming both films.

John Abraham Reflects: John’s perspective on Vedaa’s performance is a testament to his dedication to meaningful cinema. He believes that the film’s impact goes beyond box office numbers. “It’s a brave film to do. I wanted to work with Nikkhil again after Batla House. Honestly, more than success and failure, it’s the message that you’re sharing via your film that’s more important,” he reiterated.

In conclusion, while Vedaa may not have achieved the commercial success of Stree 2, John Abraham remains proud of the film.
