July Is A Month Of BO Duds!

It seems the troubles of the film industry are getting deeper and deeper. Already the theatre owners and ticket counters are seeing very dull footfalls. In some places, even the shows are being cancelled because of the lack of at least a minimum audience. Now, the late movies of July month have contributed to the fall. This month has seen the films like Pakka Commercial, The Warrior, Thank You and Ramarao On Duty. All the four are above medium-range budgeted movies and yet went on to become box office bombs because of their lacklustre stories or screenplays.

Pakka Commercial was blasted left and right for the tasteless comedy scenes and the plot. Directed by Maruthi, this film starred Gopichand and Rashi Khanna in key roles. Geetha Arts 2 banner bankrolled the project. The producers did whatever they could to promote the film but, as the content was weak, the movie went on to become below average flick. Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior was a clueless, logic-less outdated movie, said the reviewers. Ram’s mistake was to bring a fade-out director like Lingusamy, who does not have any idea about Telugu audience sensibilities. Thank You of Chay Akkineni, although was released as a feel-good film AKA Na Autograph, the film was deemed to be too slow for the taste of the Telugu audience and was outright rejected. Following it is the Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s latest film Ramarao On Duty, which is in short called a ROD by many. Audiences and reviewers expressed agony after watching the movie that the abbreviation became a literal sense to them in the theatres. Clueless screenplay, out of comfort zone role for Ravi, screenplay errors have put the movie on the list of Ravi Teja’s utter flops. We have to wait and see if August will save the film industry from this slump.
