Kalki 2898 AD: IMAX shows got cancelled at last minute

Kalki 2898 AD is gearing up for a grand release on June 27, 2024, with unprecedented excitement surrounding its debut. The film has sparked a frenzy of advance bookings, and pre-sales in the United States have already reached a staggering $3 million.

Although it was initially planned for a 3D and IMAX release, recent developments have led to the cancellation of IMAX showings in several regions.

Last-Minute IMAX Show Cancellations

In an unexpected turn of events, exhibitors in locations such as Mumbai and Canada have received directives from distributors to halt ticket sales for the IMAX version of Kalki 2898 AD. Upon inquiry, a team member from the film confirmed that these cancellations were indeed taking place.

Glitches in the IMAX Version of Kalki 2898 AD

The postponement of the IMAX release stems from technical issues within the IMAX version, which are causing delays in post-production. The team is working diligently to resolve these glitches, and once rectified, Kalki 2898 AD will eventually be available in IMAX format. For now, fans will have to wait a bit longer for the IMAX experience.

Surge in 3D Bookings Despite Mixed Reactions

Despite the setbacks with the IMAX version, the 3D screenings of the film are witnessing tremendous demand. However, there is a segment of the audience, particularly in the Telugu-speaking states, expressing reluctance to watch the film in 3D due to inadequately equipped theaters.
