Kannada Actor Darshan’s Wife Seeks Media Injunction

In a dramatic turn of events, Kannada actor Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan, has sought an injunction against the media, prohibiting them from publishing or telecasting unauthenticated information regarding the ongoing murder case involving her husband. Vijayalakshmi took to Instagram to share the court order, expressing her hope that it would help curb the spread of false information. She emphasized the emotional toll the allegations have taken on her family, including their teenage son.

Vijayalakshmi’s statement highlighted her trust in the legal system and urged the media to only publish information officially released by the enforcement authorities. She expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, Renukaswamy, and reiterated her belief in justice.

Darshan’s Alleged Involvement in Renukaswamy’s Murder

Darshan, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, has reportedly confessed to giving ₹30 lakh to another accused, Pradosh, for the disposal of the body. According to police sources, Darshan intended to ensure that his name did not surface in the case. The money was recovered from Pradosh’s residence.

The case has implicated 17 individuals, including Darshan and his friend Pavithra Gowda. Police sources suggest that Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, sent obscene messages to Gowda, which allegedly enraged Darshan and led to the murder. Renukaswamy’s body was found near a storm-water drain in Sumanahalli on June 9.

The investigation has uncovered significant evidence from the crime scene, including lathis, wooden logs used in the assault, a water bottle, blood stains, and a DVR containing CCTV footage. The police have stated that Darshan’s involvement is evident from the evidence, including CCTV footage showing his presence during the alleged assault.

Evidence and Investigation Details

According to the autopsy report, Renukaswamy’s death was caused by shock and hemorrhage due to multiple blunt injuries. The viscera samples have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for further analysis. One of the accused, Raghavendra, a member of Darshan’s fan club, allegedly lured Renukaswamy to a shed in RR Nagar under the pretext that Darshan wanted to meet him. It was in this shed that Renukaswamy was reportedly tortured and killed.

The investigation team claims to have gathered enough evidence, including CCTV footage, to establish Darshan’s presence during the assault. The police continue to analyze the collected evidence to build a robust case against all the accused.

As the case progresses, Vijayalakshmi Darshan’s injunction aims to ensure that the media refrains from spreading unauthenticated information, protecting the integrity of the legal proceedings and the privacy of those involved.
