In an exclusive update, Pinkvilla revealed that Kunal Kapoor has joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana, alongside leads Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. Sources indicate that Kunal has been actively involved in rehearsals and costume trials for his character. Although specific details about Kunal’s role are still under wraps, it has been confirmed that he has started the necessary prep work.
Ramayana Cast and Two-Part Saga
In addition to Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, the cast of Ramayana includes South star Yash. ho will play the role of Ravana, and Lara Dutta, who is reportedly cast as Surpanakha. It was previously reported that Ramayana will be a two-part saga. A source close to the project explained, “Given the scale and magnitude of the film, the makers have opted for a two-part approach to tell the story. While most in the business await the results of part one before taking the second one on floors, Ramayana will be shot simultaneously.”
Ramayana Extensive Shooting Schedule
The source also shared insights into the shooting schedule. Stated, “The team has chalked out a 350-day shoot schedule for the two Ramayana films, which includes combination scenes of the extended star cast as well as their solo sequences.” The team aims to wrap up the shooting of both films by December 2025, ensuring that the epic saga is completed on time.
