Mark Ruffalo discusses why a Hulk solo film may never happen

Mark Ruffalo has recently opened up about leading a standalone Hulk movie for Marvel. With Mark Ruffalo receiving acclaim for his role in the controversial Poor Things, the actor’s talk soon turned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe during an interview.

Mark Ruffalo doubts that the MCU will ever return to its former glory. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels are just two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s recent movie office bombs. It’s impossible to guess what Ruffalo will do next in the MCU as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Ruffalo stated that the expansion into streaming was fascinating. He went on to say that the three-year wait for a Marvel movie added to the mystery. These changes have the potential to be quite beneficial. He is still determining if it will remain the same.

Ruffalo stated that he would love to do a standalone Hulk film, but he doubts that will ever be a reality. That’s why they use the Hulk sparingly—shooting an entire movie is exceedingly expensive, as he will likely go over budget.

“I want to make one thing clear today: A standalone ‘Hulk’ movie will never happen,” Ruffalo said. “Universal has the rights, and for some reason, they don’t know how to play well with Marvel. And they don’t want to make money,” he added.
