Marvel’s Thunderbolts production halted due to Writers strike

Sorry Marvel fans! You’ve gotta wait more to see your favorite superheroes. Marvel Studios has reportedly halted the production of Thunderbolts.

The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike is impacting many TV and movie productions and causing them to halt filming. The recent film to see the brunt of the strike is Marvel’s Thunderbolts.

The movie, which was scheduled to begin shooting next month in Atlanta, will resume shooting once the strike is completed. The movie, Thunderbolts, which is a part of Marvel’s Phase 5, will bring together the characters from “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “Black Widow” and the upcoming “Captain America” installment “New World Order.”

The movie will be directed by Jake Schreier, with Lee Sung Jin penning the script. The movie will see Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh,  Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus reprising their roles as Marvel’s beloved characters.

Marvel’s upcoming Wonder Man Disney+ television series has also reportedly halted production recently, a move that comes after the show’s Los Angeles set was shut down for the day due to picketers. Earlier this month, Marvel also put a pause to the movie, Blade.
