Mouni Roy’s dance number from Vedaa’s Mummy Ji out now

As the release date for Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari, approaches, the makers have dropped another song to generate buzz. The item number titled ‘Mummy Ji’ features Mouni Roy showcasing her sexy moves in an attempt to captivate the audience. Despite the earlier success of the film’s trailer, this song seems to have fallen short of expectations. ‘Mummy Ji’ opens with a rap sequence and transitions into Mouni Roy entering a room filled with men, where she tries to seduce them with her dance.

Mummy Ji Review: A Lackluster Attempt

Mouni Roy dons a striking black and red mirror-embellished outfit, dancing around intoxicated men. The song appears to aim for the same level of impact as Malaika Arora’s iconic ‘Munni Badnaam Hui.’ Despite Mouni’s efforts and the melodious voices of Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor, ‘Mummy Ji’ fails to leave a lasting impression. The choreography by Adil Shaikh, though intended to be alluring, does not resonate with the audience as expected.

Comparison with Stree 2’s ‘Aaj Ki Raat’

When compared to the recent item number ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ from Stree 2, which features Tamanaah Bhatia, ‘Mummy Ji’ pales in comparison. Tamanaah’s dance moves in ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ have been widely praised and are considered unmatched, making it a clear winner over Mouni Roy’s performance in ‘Mummy Ji.’ Despite the combined talents of Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor, along with Manan Bhardwaj’s composition and lyrics, the song doesn’t hit the mark.
