National awardee Queen’s producer Madhu Mantena has called it forever with Ira Trivedi

Madhu Mantena is a name you may not be familiar with, but if you hear the names of the movies he has produced, you’ll surely remember him. He’s made movies happen across Hindi, Telugu and Bengali cinem. His movie ‘Queen’ featuring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao collected 80+ crores in its total lifetime. Bombay Velvet’s credit also goes into his pocket.

Madhu’s personal life is a tragic one. Going through a divorce is an emotional turmoil in its own, unexplainable way. On top of that, his co-producer Vikas Bahl was caught under #MeToo movement allegations which had its separate consequences. Between all that mess, it’s natural Mantena did not have the time and energy to go through another relationship.

However, it’s rightly said that when the right one enters, everything falls in place effortlessly. That’s exactly what happened between Ira Trivedi and Mantena. Briefly, Ira Trivedi is an author and a Yoga teacher. One of her greatest books of all the time is The Great Indian Love Story which is about Riya, jaded by her unsuccessful attempt to find a job in America, returns to Delhi to find the city of her childhood changed beyond recognition. Striking an unlikely friendship with Serena, Riya finds her complacent torpor shattered.

At the age of 49, Mantena met Ira through a common friend in Delhi and eventually, he started attending a lot of Ira’s book launches. Ira’s presence and company brought a melting change in Mantena’s tough life. Of course, there were ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ before saying yes. “Background differences, cultural differences, he was from Bollywood, I didn’t even know what a producer means in the film business.” were Ira’s reasons for turning him down. Today, the same woman uploaded the most vibrant photo from their wedding day with the caption, “I’M complete now.” How thoughtful is that?
