Nora Fatehi refuses to compromise on her work ethic – calls herself ‘difficult’ on set

Nora Fatehi is a highly respected self-learned dancer who has got very deserving of fame on the stage of Bollywood. She’s done most of it – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films. At the age of 31, she’s achieved more heights than people with even reference sometimes fail to achieve. Nora Fatehi made her colourful, burning entry into Bollywood with her song Dilbar and the hook step that everyone was hooked to (it’s pun time again) for several months after its release. With an out-of-the-sky record of 520 million+ views, it was obvious we were going to see more of Nora, and fortunately, we did.

After her Bollywood debut, she became a part of numerous songs like O Saki Saki, Garmi, Marjaavaan, Dance Meri Rani, Chhor Denge, and Pachtaoge, none of them going lesser than 100 million views globally. Her flexible body is not an overnight result, her social media uploads are a living example that with practice, you need no coach, no high-charging professionals to guide you. Her workout routines are a must-watch for people who wish to be inspired.

For the curious candies who wonder, “What is Nora like at work?”, Nora answers it for you today. To BBC she says with a fierce sass in her speech, “At work, I’m difficult because I don’t expect anything but the best because I have sacrificed so much, and when I go in front of the camera, or when I’m on stage, I don’t leave any crumbs, I eat.” Nora further explains that being this way gives her a strong sense of responsibility and empowerment. When she’s said yes, she gives it her all. Rigorous hours of rehearsals, perfecting every nitpicked detail including costume and makeup. She’s here to really deliver, not just stand for the sake of it.

She mentions how she accepts just one or two projects out of the countless she receives, sometimes not even that, because she doesn’t want to get caught up in typecasting. To understand this concept better, typecasting is when one celebrity suddenly becomes extremely famous and starts appearing in multiple projects one after the other, in a way that every alternate video is about them. The downside of this phenomenon is that other talented artists who deserve to share the spotlight go intentionally or unintentionally unnoticed.
