In a recent interview with Deadline, Prabhas shared insights about the film, highlighting its global appeal. He stated, “The whole film is made for international [audiences]. That’s why it’s the highest budget and we’ve got the best actors in the country.” This statement underscores the film’s ambition to captivate audiences worldwide with its grand scale and exceptional performances.

Prabhas also reflected on being recognized as a pan-Indian star. He mentioned, “We were hearing for the first time people calling me ‘pan-Indian’. Reacting to a clip that introduced Bujji, he wrote, “When you work on such projects it is never known what the end results shall be… and as the days pass by, and the clips and finer points begin to appear… you wonder how in hell did the Director conceive all this… and the admiration never stops.” This endorsement from a legendary actor adds to the film’s credibility and anticipation.

Initially scheduled for release on May 9, Kalki 2898 AD will now hit theaters on June 27. Director Nag Ashwin discussed the film’s inspiration at the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon, stating, “We tried to create worlds, imagining what they would be like while still keeping it Indian and not making it look like Blade Runner.” This approach aims to offer a fresh perspective on sci-fi while maintaining its Indian roots.
