Pressure On Jathi Ratnalu Director!

Jathi Ratnalu was an unexpected hit in the Covid times. Starring Naveen Polisetty, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshi and Faria Abdullah, the movie was made from just around Rs 6 Crores to Rs 7 Crores and collected a lifetime estimate of around Rs 70 Crores. Director K.V Anudeep drew applause all over for his nonchalant way of movie-making albeit there is no story whatsoever. The film’s success seems to have become a hangover for Anudeep and he again wrote a similar kind of script based solely on situational comedy rather than a story. The film, titled First Day First Show was released recently and went on to become a flop. Although Anudeep is not the director of the film, it’s his story and guidance that his assistants followed as the directors.

Although the directors of the FDFS, Lakshmi Narayana and Vamsi Goud, are his assistants, the pressure of the movie’s failure is primarily weighing upon Anudeep himself. He was the one who got focused throughout the promotions and at one point in time, it looked as if he was the director of the film. Now, Anudeep is busy with his next project with Siva Karthikeyan titled Prince. The result of this bilingual flick will be having a major impact on his career. If the pressure of overcoming the second film sentiment in the industry is one thing, the huge responsibility on his shoulders to prove that Jathi Ratnalu is not a fluke hit is entirely a different pressure. There is no doubt that KVA will reach the star directors list if this film hits the sweet spot with the audience, but what’s his future if the result is different is the question that needs to be answered.
