Prithviraj Sukumaran In Talks With Mammootty For A Project

Prithviraj Sukumaran, a dynamic force in the Malayalam film industry, is juggling a plethora of exciting ventures, including his directorial project, L2: Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal. Meanwhile he’s promoting his upcoming release Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil which soon to be in theatres.

In a recent dialogue, Prithviraj expressed his desire to helm a film starring Mammootty and shared that he has pitched a concept to the icon, which was met with mutual enthusiasm. Yet, due to their packed schedules, this collaboration may not materialize soon.

Convinced that Mammootty was the ideal fit, he presented the idea to the seasoned actor. Mammootty, too, found the narrative captivating, but the initiation of this venture is on hold. The reason lies in the hectic timelines of both Prithviraj and Mammootty.

Prithviraj, who dons the hats of both actor and director, pointed out that Mammootty is currently engrossed in a series of commitments, making it challenging to allocate time for this new project.

Nonetheless, Prithviraj remains optimistic about the project’s future, hoping it will commence once their existing obligations are fulfilled. Fans of Malayalam cinema are excited about the prospect of this actor-director duo. Waiting to see them uniting for their debut collaboration, especially after Prithviraj’s recent announcement.

Mammootty’s Upcoming Ventures

For those not in the loop, Mammootty’s action-packed film Turbo. It is directed by Vysakh and is slated for release on May 23, 2024. Following that, he will appear in Bazooka, an action thriller directed by the up-and-coming Deeno Dennis. Subsequently, Mammootty is set to collaborate with editor-turned-director Mahesh Narayanan on a yet-to-be-titled political thriller.

Rumors are also circulating about Mammootty re-teaming with Bheeshma Parvam’s director, Amal Neerad, for another action thriller. Additionally, there’s anticipation for the revival of their long-postponed project, Bilal, anticipated for 2025.
