Puri Says “audience doesn’t prefer watching Hindi films”

Puri Jagannath’s Liger is all set to release on August 25th. More than Telugu, this movie starring Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pande in lead roles is bagging great craze in Bollywood with each-passing day.

On the other hand, though the Bollywood audience are making most of our South-Indian films as blockbusters including Baahubali, KGF, RRR, Pushpa and recently released Karthikeya2, it’s their Hindi films that are scoring disasters in South-India including the recent release Laal Singh Chaddha.

Talking on the same, director Puri Jagannath made shocking comments and joined the list of people who participated in Bollywood vs South Indian films debate.

In an interview, while Puri was asked about dubbed south films working on north by, but dubbing of Bollywood films not accepted down south, Puri said,, ”It’s absolutely right. It’s not working big time actually. North people are accepting South ones. But if a Hindi film dubbed in the south is not accepted by the audience there”.

“There is a set of Hindi movies that Telugu audiences prefer watching, but not specifically the dubbed ones.”, the Pokiri director added.

Coming to Liger, this Puri Jagannadh directorial also stars Ramya Krishnan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles. And it also features former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.
