Rajinikanth to Attend Narendra Modi’s Oath-Taking Ceremony

Actor Rajinikanth has been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony of PM-designate Narendra Modi, which will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Sunday. He is expected to arrive in the national capital shortly. Rajinikanth hailed Modi’s assumption of office for the third time as a significant achievement and a healthy sign for democracy.

8,000 Guests to Attend

The ceremony will witness the presence of over 8,000 guests, including various professionals and cultural performers. The event will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Forecourt in Delhi. Earlier in the day, Rajinikanth was spotted leaving for Delhi from his residence in Chennai.

Rajinikanth’s Remarks

As he left for Delhi, Rajinikanth spoke to reporters outside the airport and congratulated Modi. “I am going to take part in the swearing-in ceremony… It is a very historic event… Assuming office for the third consecutive term is Narendra Modi’s big achievement, my hearty greetings to him. People have elected a robust opposition which is a healthy sign for democracy,” Rajinikanth said.

Modi’s Third Term

When asked about his expectations for the next five years, Rajinikanth expressed optimism about good governance, aligning with what he anticipates.

Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on Sunday, June 9, following the NDA’s majority in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The event will commence at 7:15 pm at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Forecourt.

Compact Guest List

According to officials, over 8,000 guests will attend the oath-taking ceremony, including professionals and cultural performers. The guest list is compact due to the upcoming G7 meeting in Italy, for which Modi will depart later in the week, ANI reported, citing sources. Post-ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu will host a banquet for the dignitaries at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

On the work front, Rajinikanth has several exciting films lined up. He will soon be seen in TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, set for release in October, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati. He will also resume shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, which has already garnered positive reactions from the teaser announcement.
