Ram Charan is currently busy shooting for his next with ace director Shankar Shanmugam. Tentatively RC15, the film’s shoot is currently in a break and will be going on sets soon. On the other hand, Charan has agreed to star in a movie helmed by Gowtham Tinnanuri. Gowtham has become the talk of the town with his clean sports emotional drama Jersey. This Nani starrer was not only a blockbuster but also a critical hit as well. His movie with Ram Charan too is said to be based on the sports genre. While Cherry was busy with RRR, Gowtham remade Jersey in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor which resulted in an unexpected dud.
Going by that result, Ram Charan was said to have become apprehensive regarding the director. The outcome, says the Tollywood sources, is the shelving of the project completely. If the reports are to be believed, Megapower Star is searching for another director who can sustain the current high of his career. With RRR, entire India and the world witnessed Charan’s acting prowess and dancing skills. While his Bollywood debut with Zanjeer didn’t yield him the desired results, RRR filled that gap. Along with Ntr, Charan is a pan-Indian star now and he has the burden of selecting good scripts carefully. While Tarak has powerful projects with directors like Koratala Siva and Prashant Neel lined up, Charan needs to up the ante as well if he intends to stay in the race, says cine observers.
