Ranbir Kapoor and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Put on Hold

Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of the epic Ramayana is quickly moving from concept to reality. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role, the film is shaping up to be a visual masterpiece. The director is sparing no expense to recreate the mythological world with authenticity and grandeur.

Construction is in full swing at Film City, where twelve sprawling sets are being erected. To accommodate the film’s 3D format. These opulent sets will bring to life iconic locations such as Ayodhya and Mithila. The cities synonymous with Ram and Sita. According to a report, the target is to complete these massive constructions by mid-August, setting the stage for a visual spectacle.

Ranbir Kapoor and Career-Defining Cast

The film boasts a star-studded cast with Sai Pallavi joining Ranbir Kapoor as the leading lady, portraying Sita. Adding to the excitement, veteran actor Arun Govil, renowned for his portrayal of Ram in the iconic television series Ramayan. He will take on the role of King Dasharath.

The casting of Yash as Ravana has also generated significant buzz, with the role promising to be career-defining for the actor. The initial focus of the production has been on capturing Ram’s younger years, but the production team is gearing up for the next phase, with the principal cast set to resume shooting in late August.

A Two-Part Epic with Concurrent Filming

In a surprising revelation about the film’s structure, Ramayana will be a two-part epic. Unlike traditional filmmaking practices where a sequel is greenlit based on the first part’s performance, the makers are adopting a more aggressive approach. A significant portion of the second part will be filmed concurrently with the first.

This strategy reflects the confidence in the project’s success and ensures continuity in the storytelling. The production schedule is meticulously crafted, spanning 350 days and encompassing both individual and ensemble sequences. The goal is to wrap principal photography for both parts by December 2025, allowing ample time for post-production.

Ranbir Kapoor Ramayana Anticipated Release

The post-production of Ramayana will be handled by the renowned visual effects studio, DNEG. While the release date remains under wraps, it is expected to be announced once the first part of the filming is complete. Fans eagerly await this cinematic adaptation of the beloved epic, confident that Nitesh Tiwari‘s vision and the stellar cast will deliver an unforgettable experience.
