Alia Bhatt recently opened up about her husband Ranbir Kapoor’s role as a father to their daughter, Raha Kapoor. In a candid interview with The Indian Express, Alia shared how Ranbir’s involvement in their daughter’s life goes beyond the usual expectations. She highlighted how Ranbir not only shares a fun and loving bond with Raha but also takes an active interest in her fashion choices.
Alia mentioned, “Nothing surprised me. And even if it was a surprise, it’s not like I didn’t expect it. I always inherently felt like he’d be a wonderful father.” She described the playful and humorous interactions between Ranbir and Raha, emphasizing the joy and laughter they bring into each other’s lives. “They have so much fun together. They’re always troubling each other. They pull each other’s leg. They have the funniest conversations. They make each other laugh,” Alia added.
Ranbir’s Unique Approach to Raha’s Fashion
One of the most endearing revelations was Ranbir’s involvement in curating Raha’s wardrobe. Alia noted that while people might assume she would be the one picking out outfits for their daughter, it’s actually Ranbir who takes charge. “One of the things I’m most surprised by… not surprised by, but maybe I didn’t see to it, is how specific Ranbir is about Raha’s fashion choices,” she said. Alia explained how Ranbir meticulously goes through Raha’s wardrobe and puts together outfits, showcasing his deep involvement and care.
She further elaborated, “I have to go and ask him, ‘Ranbir, what should Raha wear for this thing today?’ He’ll come and rummage into the wardrobe and he’ll put it together and get so involved deeply even into that.” This attention to detail and creativity extends beyond just fashion, as Ranbir comes up with imaginative ways to entertain Raha, something that continually surprises Alia. “His creativity comes very naturally to him, and he doesn’t have to try hard for that,” she remarked.
Alia and Ranbir’s Journey Together
Alia and Ranbir’s relationship blossomed while they were working on Ayan Mukerji’s 2022 fantasy film Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. They tied the knot in 2022 and welcomed their daughter Raha later that year. Their personal and professional journeys are intertwined, with the couple set to reunite on screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, slated for release next year.
In addition to their upcoming project together, Ranbir is also working on Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of Ramayana, while Alia has exciting projects lined up, including Vasan Bala’s Jigra and an untitled YRF Spy Universe film with Sharvari Wagh.
