After the grand success of Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2 has almost become a film to reach that scale after beginning as a very small film. The flick has already breached the gross of Rs 75 Crores gross and is running towards a significant milestone, i.e, the Rs 100 Crores mark. The film pundits say that there are two reasons behind the success of Karthikeya 2 in the north belt. One is being the current trend of Indianness. The movies which glorify and remind the audience about the roots of ancient Indian culture are receiving tremendous applause from the North circles. The second reason is that there are no good movies from Bollywood in recent times, which can at least give some competition to the south. As a result, there is no stopping anytime soon for Nikhil Siddartha’s film.
On the other hand, netizens are demanding that the old movies in Tollywood which are similar to Karthikeya 2 must be released in Bollywood. Especially the names of Anji, Deviputrudu and Sahasam are cropping up on social media. Netizens are asking that the north audience will definitely support these films in the current trend and these movies will also cement the position of Tollywood as India’s number one film industry. To be honest, this is not really a bad idea. Moreover, even though Anji and Devi Putrudu were flops when they were released, they will be having a good reach in the present day. Will the makers choose to re-release those movies in Hindi? Let’s see.
