Bollywood k Bhai Jaan Salman Khan has been frequently questioned throughout the years about his ambitions for marriage. Fans and the media frequently question the Bollywood actor about his plans to “settle down” in life. He usually always responds to it in a scripted manner, but there was once a time when the Bollywood heartthrob had engaged a prominent actress. Recently, an old video of Salman discussing his desire to wed Juhi Chawla appeared online.
In a 1990s interview, Salman revealed his wedding preparations, claiming that Juhi was “really sweet” to him and that he had even asked her father for permission to marry her. Salman acknowledged that Juhi’s father’s response was to shut him down when questioned about it.
When questioned by a reporter why Juhi’s father declined, Salman, responded, “Bas… I don’t fit the bill, I guess. Pata nahin kya chahiye unko.”
In an interview, the actress finally reacted to the viral old video. Laughing it off, she says, “Back in the day, when I had just started out in my career, and when Salman was not THE Salman Khan, a film had come my way that had him as the lead actor. In fact, I didn’t know anyone properly back then – not him, not Aamir (Khan, actor) or anyone else in the industry. Incidentally, I couldn’t do the film because of some issue. And to this day, he doesn’t leave one chance to remind me of it! ‘You didn’t do the film with me,’ he keeps saying! We hardly worked on films together but we did a lot of stage shows. He had a cameo in Deewana Mastana.”
