Shah Rukh Khan Reveals The The Backstory of Famous Open Arms Gesture

Shah Rukh Khan Reveals The The Backstory of Famous Open Arms Gesture. Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, has not only mesmerized audiences with his acting but also with his signature pose: arms outstretched, ready to embrace the world. This iconic gesture has become a symbol of his on-screen charm, evoking feelings of love and warmth. Recently, Khan shared the amusing story behind this beloved pose, revealing that it was born out of a moment of self-doubt and creativity during a dance rehearsal.

A Dance Move That Didn’t Work

During his appearance at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh Khan candidly discussed the origins of his famous open arms pose. He credited the late choreographer Saroj Khan for its inception. Reflecting on the 90s in Indian cinema, Khan mentioned that actors were expected to master a particular dance move known as the “dip.”

The actor recounted a pivotal moment when he struggled to learn this dance step. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t perfect it and felt frustrated. Determined to improve, he approached Saroj Khan the next day, eager to master the move. However, she suggested an alternative: since he couldn’t do the dip, he could simply stand with his arms outstretched.

Embracing the Open Arms Pose

Despite his initial insistence that he could perform the dip, Saroj Khan’s advice resonated with him. She remarked that the dip didn’t look appealing on him, leading Khan to embrace the open arms pose instead. This decision marked the beginning of a new signature move for the actor. As he transitioned to another film set, he faced similar challenges with dance choreography.

Khan humorously added that he began to “scientifically” explain the pose to others, detailing how to position their right leg at a certain angle and pose in a specific way. “I am only fooling you all. It’s nothing, it’s just arms out,” he concluded with a smile.

Looking Ahead

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to start shooting for his next movie, “King.” Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the action movie also stars Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. As fans eagerly await his next cinematic venture, the story behind his iconic pose adds another layer to the legend of Shah Rukh Khan, reminding us all of the blend of humility, humor, and charisma that defines the superstar.
