In the biographical drama Shershaah, Sidharth Malhotra played Captain Vikram Batra (PVC), and he gave an outstanding performance. The actor honored the martyr on the day of his birth. The actor posted a photo of himself writing a little note and paying respect to the “real Shershah.”

In celebration of Param Vir Chakra-honored Captain Vikram Batra’s 50th birthday, Sidharth Malhotra celebrated by posting an Instagram story with a moving comment on his account on Monday, September 9. The Student of the Year actor was standing in front of the Captain’s statue in the posted photo, honourably folding his hands.

Along with the picture the actor wrote, “Remembering Captain Vikram Batra (PVC), the real Shershaah, on his 50th birth anniversary. I’m grateful to have had the privilege of portraying him on screen. His bravery and spirit continue to inspire us all.”

For those who don’t know, Captain Vikram Batra was an Indian Army soldier. He lost his life while serving for the nation in the Kargil War in 1999. Param Vir Chakra, The highest military honour in India, was given posthumously to the martyr. Later, his life was chronicled in the Shershaah film, starring Sidharth.
