South Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to entertain mass audience once again with his action drama film Vettaiyan.
In a recent conversation at an event Rajinikanth confesses to being dumbfounded when he learned about Fahadh Faasil’s part in Vettaiyan , calling him a natural artist.
Rajinikanth said, “There’s an extraordinary character in the film which was done by Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. When they told me about his character, I was dumbfounded at who they’d cast in this role. The director Gnanavel then said we don’t have to go around and ask every artist, we should only cast Fahadh Faasil for this role.
He further said “I was surprised because this character is an entertainer role and I had only seen two films of Fahadh Faasil. One being Vikram and the other Maamannan. What an actor is he! I haven’t seen a natural artist like him in my entirety. He is just beyond words.
Vettaiyan’s incredible casting
The film’s ensemble cast inlcudes Rajinikanth as SP Ajith IPS ,Amitabh Bachchan as DGP Sathyadev Pande, Fahadh Faasil as Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Ritika Singh as ASP Roopa, Dushara Vijayan , Rohini, Rao Ramesh as DGP D. Shrinivas, Ramesh Thilak, Kishore as SP Harish Kumar, Rakshan,G. M. Sundar, Abdusamad, Abhirami as Swetha, Supreeth Reddy, and Shaji Chen.
Plot
The film follows retired police officer SP Ajith IPS as he fights against the system when ruthless criminal activity is met with force from a maverick police officer with a disregard for the rules as he confronts an outbreak of lawlessness.
Film’s official prevue for Vettaiyan was released on September 20 to mixed response from viewers, with some finding Prakash Raj dubbing for Bachchan .
Subsequently, filmmakers used AI artificial intelligence to replace Raj’s voice with Bachchan’s own for the final cut.
The much anticipated Tamil action drama, Vettaiyan is scheduled to release worldwide on 10 October 2024 in theatres, coinciding with Vijayadasami.
