Netflix has officially announced that “Squid Game” Season 2 will premiere on December 26. With the hit Korean drama also being renewed for a third and final season set to debut in 2025. This exciting news was shared through a video announcement, accompanied by a letter from series creator, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk.

In his letter, Hwang expressed his excitement about the journey of “Squid Game,” stating, “I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story.”

Returning cast members for the new season include Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, while new faces joining the ensemble are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an. The teaser released on social media gave fans a glimpse of a new set of contestants participating in the deadly games, with the familiar workers in red and black overseeing the events. The trailer ends with a chilling question from the head of the soldiers, “It’s been three years. Do you want to play again?”
