Sushant Singh Rajput left us on this day, 3 years ago – the pain still hits like a fresh wave

On the last post by Sushant Singh Rajput, our on-screen Mahi Paaji, a fan commented barely seconds ago, “His death has costed Bollywood everything.” and to that, we say – no truer words were ever spoken. A strong, shivering chill runs down our spines as we even begin to write about this wonderful human being who was a lot more than just flesh and bones. He was the liveliest person in Bollywood, the most happy-go-lucky, optimistic person you’d come across. Despite reaching mountain hill limits of success besides huge actresses like Kriti Sanon, his mind was always close to the ground – he always felt like home. You didn’t have to meet him in-person to find out, his aura shone through a simple photograph of his. It’s a shame that we’re talking about Sushant Singh Rajput in past tense.

People who have loved him since he was our chocolate boy Manav in Pavitra Rishta felt a real, heart-crushing sense of loss since 14th June, 2020 and every year after it. The media couldn’t become more inhumane than that, by sweeping SSR’s so-called ‘suicide’ case under the rug like it never happened. The entire public collectively demanded an investigation but no attention was given to that. Of course, we all know he was murdered but nobody wants to talk about it.

Rhea Chakraborty, who has appeared beside Arjun Kapoor in his movie Half Girlfriend, posted a video with SSR on her Instagram where they are seated on a rock, seemingly enjoying a vacation.

His beloved sister, Shweta Rajput wrote, “Love you Bhai, and salute to your intelligence. I miss you every moment. But I know you are a part of me now…. You have become as integral as my breath. Sharing a few nooks recommended by him. Let’s live him by being him. #SushantIsAlive.”

Happy memories of people who left us are a strange tornado of extreme emotions. One point, you’re smiling, recollecting how beautiful it was to feel their presence and another, you’re a chaotic mess, smeared in tears because you won’t get to experience it anymore. People may forget how you looked, what your voice was like, but they’ll never forget the way you made them feel. Let’s be kind – it costs no money.
