Siddhant Chaturvedi is known for playing the supporting role of a street rapper in the musical drama Gully Boy in 2019. He was then seen romancing Deepika Padukone in Gehraiyaan, a romantic drama in 2022. The actor is now gearing up for his upcoming film Yudhra.
But did you know that Siddhant was originally slated to star with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, and Alia Bhatt in “Brahmastra”? however, the actor refused the offer. Recently in an interview, the actor revealed the real reason why he rejected to play in Brahmastra.
Siddhant Chaturvedi discloses that his father prevented him from signing Brahmastra because no one would have seen him because of the three stars, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt shadowing him. The actor claims that the identical incident occurred during “Gully Boy,” but he explains how his father was persuaded to believe it.
Siddhant Chaturvedi ‘s statement
The actor said in the interview, “It was at a very initial stage at that time, I was a nobody, a struggler, so who am I to say no to Ayan Mukerji, Dharma, and Brahmastra?” Siddhant stated that he was really excited when he was approached. But the movie was still in the writing stage.
He further disclosed,”I could have done it as well, but my father wouldn’t have let me. ‘You are better than this,’ he says, even till today he pushes me.” He added, “I told my father the film has Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan and he asked me, ‘Toh tujhe kaun dekhega (so, who will notice you)?”
quoting his father’s excat words to the media he said, “Nahi beta, I don’t think you should do it. Do you have the the script, have you auditioned for it? If you don’t even know what you are going to do in that film, don’t sell your destiny”
the actors upcoming film Yudhra is an action film directed by Ravi Udyawar and written by Shridhar Raghavan. It stars Siddhant Chaturvedi, Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal, Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun and Shilpa Shukla. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on 20 September 2024.
