The Suicide Squad’s Blackguard, Pete Davidson battles with Crohn’s disease

Did you know? Pete has been a cast member for eight seasons, from 2014 to 2022 for the show Saturday Night Live. Pete started his career with mini guest appearances in famous shows like Brooklyn Ninety-Nine, Friends of the People, Guy Code, and Wild ‘n Out.

His success sky-rocketed with flying colors when he took up the role of Blackguard from The Suicide Squad. This 29-year-old talented Hollywood star is real-life Pete Davidson who is an American comedian, actor, and,  writer. Around February 2022, he was back on Instagram as @pmd, touching 614,000 followers. However, as of May 2023, there’s no Instagram account active with that name. In short, Pete Davidson is not on Instagram and we have no information about his return whatsoever.

But, we have other sources to learn about Blackguard’s whereabouts. Back in 2016 in an interview, he opened up about a fatal illness he’d been going through since the age of 17 or 18. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. In layman’s terms, this disease is related to the digestive system, where there’s swelling in the digestive tract, causing difficulty in smooth day-to-day functioning. He has spoken about his illness on the big screen as well, in his movie The King of Staten Island.

He mentioned how he feels offended when people prejudice him as a ‘pothead’ because he uses cannabis (weed) to deal with Crohn’s. “My stomach would be in pain all day and I wouldn’t be able to eat, but then I’d smoke and I can eat and do my shows,” were his exact words. There’s no cure for Crohn’s, just preventive medications.

Currently. Pete is celebrating the success of his autobiographic comedy show Bupkis.
