Theatres to close in Godavari districts?

This is shocking news not just to the Telugu film industry but also to the fans. The Godavari district exhibitors in Andhra Pradesh are said to be planning to shut down all the theatres except the halls in which the Pakka Commercial movie will be released. This is in protest of the AP government’s ultimatum to sign the theatre’s consent of the government’s website for ticket booking. This decision of the exhibitors sends shivers to the makers of movies released in July. From The Warrior to Rama Rao on Duty, many films are scheduled to be released in July.

The movie teams are expressing concerns that the decreasing footfalls for the theatres are a big worry for them, and now if the theatres are closed, they may face huge losses. The main problem is that the exhibitors already have agreements with the movie ticket booking portals like Book My Show, Ticket new, etc. Now, as the Jagan government forces them to obey its rules, exhibitors are not happy. While this may be the fight between them and the government, Cine producers are the ones that might become the scapegoats in this issue.
