Tollywood Reacts to Arshad Warsi’s Comment on Prabhas as Kalki

Arshad Warsi has recently stirred up controversy with his remarks about Prabhas’ performance in the film Kalki 2898 AD. During his appearance on the podcast Unfiltered with Samdish, Warsi criticized Prabhas’ portrayal of Bhairava, describing it as “like a joker.” Warsi expressed his dissatisfaction by saying, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa? Mujhe nahin samajh mein aata,” which translates to, “What have you made of it? Why do they do such things? I never understand.”

Tollywood Reacts to Comments on Prabhas

Following Warsi’s remarks, several Tollywood personalities have publicly responded. Sudheer Babu, actor Mahesh Babu’s brother-in-law, took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his disapproval. Babu criticized Warsi’s approach, stating, “It’s okay to criticize constructively but it’s never okay to bad-mouth. Never expected the absence of professionalism from Arshad Warsi. Prabhas’s stature is too big for comments coming from small minds.” Siddhu Jonnalagadda also shared his thoughts on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of respectful expression when discussing opinions on films and actors. Jonnalagadda praised Kalki 2898 AD and expressed pride in its creation, urging for mutual respect within the industry.

Nani and Dil Raju Weigh In

Actor Nani, while attending an event for his film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, commented on the situation, suggesting that Warsi’s remarks were an attempt to gain publicity. Nani remarked, “I think the biggest publicity in that person’s life just happened now. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter then.” Renowned producer Dil Raju also weighed in, noting that such controversies often result in unintended publicity for the individuals involved. He remarked that Prabhas has gained more attention due to the incident. Suggesting that comments from “random people” often have little significance in the broader context.

Warsi’s Overall Response and Context

Arshad Warsi’s comments on Kalki 2898 AD were made during a segment where he discussed movies he did not enjoy. Although Warsi complimented Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal of Ashwatthama in the film, his critique of Prabhas’ performance has sparked significant debate. Warsi’s comparison of Prabhas to Mel Gibson’s Mad Max character was intended to highlight his expectations, but it has instead ignited discussions about professional decorum and respect in film critique.
