Tovino Thomas’ Ajayante Randam Moshanam in legal trouble

“Ajayante Randam Moshanam,” starring Tovino Thomas, is one of the most eagerly awaited Malayalam films of 2024. Directed by newcomer Jithin Lal, this period fantasy film is now in the final stages of post-production. However, recent updates reveal that the film has encountered legal issues due to a financier’s complaint against the producers, which has resulted in a halt on its theatre, OTT, and other distribution deals.

Legal Troubles for Ajayante Randam Moshanam

According to recent reports, a legal case has been filed against the film’s producers by Dr. Vineeth, a resident of Ernakulam, Kerala. Dr. Vineeth alleges that he provided Rs. 3.2 crore for the production of “Ajayante Randam Moshanam” but did not receive ownership rights as promised. Instead, he claims the ownership was secretly transferred to another party. This lawsuit has led to significant legal complications for the film.

Court Issues Stay Order on Financial Dealings

The Ernakulam sessions court has issued a stay order on all further financial transactions related to the film directed by Jithin Lal. As a result, all major financial deals for “Ajayante Randam Moshanam,” including theatrical rights, OTT streaming rights, satellite rights, and audio rights, have been put on hold until the legal issues are resolved. Consequently, the release of the film might also be delayed until the producers find a solution to these legal challenges.

Release Plans for Ajayante Randam Moshanam

“Ajayante Randam Moshanam,” features Tovino Thomas in a triple role as Ajayan, Maniyan, and Kunji Kelu. It was initially scheduled for release in May 2024. However, due to delays in post-production, the release was postponed to the Onam season of 2024. The team is now considering further postponing the release to December 2024. It is to ensure the VFX-heavy film undergoes meticulous post-production without the pressure of an impending release date.
