Vettaiyan: Day 1 Box Office Collection in India

Vettaiyan: Day 1 Box Office Collection in India. Recently released ‘Vettaiyan,’ the cop drama, was Rajinikanth’s one of the most anticipated movie. The movie opens wildly at the Indian box office with an impressive whooping amount.

The opening day at the box office was a huge success for Vettaiyan. Rajinikanth plays the lead in the film. Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and other actors are in the cast. The film, directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame, made Rs 35 crore on its first day of release.

With support from Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan signified Superstar Rajinikanth’s big-screen comeback following the release of last year’s All-Time Blockbuster, Jailer. The police drama has made an incredible debut in Tamil Nadu, grossing between Rs 19 and Rs 20 crore. This is the second-best opening of 2024, behind Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT.

Together, the film’s revenue from the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka was close to Rs 9 crore. Kerala was able to contribute more than Rs 4 crore, while on the first day of the event, the rest of India gave Rs 1.50 crore. The Rajinikanth film made a respectable Rs 35 crore at the Indian box office on its first day of release.

The film’s limited release may have contributed to its underwhelming results in the Hindi belt. Furthermore, it would be up against fierce competition since Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video are being released in North India starting today.

The TJ Gnanavel-helmed film has received excellent reviews, but it’s not your typical Rajinikanth mass-actor flick. Compared to Vettaiyan, Jailer depends less on the director’s vision. It can’t match Jailer’s historical level of popularity because it concentrates more on the compelling tale than Thalaivar’s fan service.

But Vettaiyan should take advantage of the Saturday and Sunday off for Dussehra. The festive atmosphere and good first response are expected to drive collections, which should peak throughout the weekend.
