Vettaiyan makers reportedly have used Artificial Intelligence – AI to generate Amitabh Bachchan’s voice in Tamil after receiving backlash for actors dubbed voice.
Superstar Rajinikanth is slated to release his highly anticipated flick Vettaiyan in theaters on October 10, 2024.
The film’s creators have now replaced Amitabh Bachchan’s voice with his original tone utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The film’s makers recently debuted the Prevue, which included Prakash Raj as Big B’s voice. However, many reacted strongly to the superstar’s dubbed voice, claiming it was inappropriate for the actor. The filmmakers have now fixed the issue in the Prevue itself.
️The official teaser Vettaiyan was released on September 20. It received mixed response from viewers, with some finding Prakash Raj voicing Bachchan jarring.
Subsequently, the makers decided to replace Raj’s voice with Bachchan’s own for the final cut and all other language releases, enhanced via artificial intelligence.
Film’s cast
The film stars Rajinikanth in the titular role, alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan and Abhirami.

The action entertainer music and background score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, in his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta , Darbar and Jailer , maiden with Gnanavel.
The audio rights were acquired by Sony Music India.”Vettaiyan Birthday Teaser Music” was the song that was used on the title teaser that released on the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday .
The film’s first single “Manasilaayo” was released on 9 September 2024 and received positive response. It features late singer Malaysia Vasudevan’s vocals generated via artificial intelligence. The second single titled “Hunter Vantaar” was released on 20 September 2024
Vettaiyan directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions and is set for worldwide release o 10 October 2024 coinciding with Vijayadhashami.
