The Bollywood industry is buzzing with the recent news of actor Vijay Raaz being removed from the upcoming film Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn. The film’s co-producer, Kumar Mangat Pathak, cited Raaz’s behaviour and demands as the primary reasons for his removal. However, Raaz has a different story to tell, claiming that he was dropped for not greeting Ajay Devgn on set.
Co-Producer’s Statement
Kumar Mangat Pathak confirmed the news, stating, “Yes, it’s true that we have removed Vijay Raaz from the film because of his behaviour on the sets. He demanded bigger rooms, and a vanity van, and also overcharged us for the spot boys. His spot boy was paid ₹20,000 per night, which is more than any big actor. The UK is an expensive place, and everyone got standard rooms during the shoot, but he demanded premium suites.”
Pathak further elaborated that even other actors and he stayed in the same category of room as Raaz, which costs ₹45,000 per night in one of the best hotels. Despite efforts to accommodate his demands, Raaz’s behaviour reportedly worsened, leading to his removal from the film.
Vijay Raaz’s Response
In his defense, Vijay Raaz shared a different perspective. He stated that upon arriving at the shoot location, he met with Ravi Kishan, director Vijay Arora, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Raaz mentioned, “I stepped out of the van and spotted Ajay Devgn standing around 25 meters away. I didn’t go to greet him as he was busy, and I continued to speak to my friends around. 25 minutes later, Mr. Kumar Mangat came to me and said, ‘Aap Film Se Nikal Jaaye, Hum Aapko Nikal Rahe Hai (You quit the film, we are dropping you)’.”
Vijay Raaz Dropped: Raaz emphasized that the only misconduct from his end was not greeting Ajay Devgn. He added that he was removed from the film within 30 minutes of reaching the sets and denied any allegations of misconduct.
