Why did Fetty Wap: the rapper receive a 6-year prison sentence?

Fetty Wap is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rose to fame after his debut single “Trap Queen” reached number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2015.

Over the years, Fetty Wap has been charged with multiple lawsuits including copyright infringement, defamation, property damage, and assault.

Fetty Wap was officially sentenced to six years in federal prison for drug trafficking across the country. Prosecutors revealed that he held a firearm and threatened to kill someone during the FaceTime call. He pleaded guilty to distributing more than 500 grams of cocaine and narcotics.

Judge Joanna Seybert announced his 6-year-long sentence at the federal court in Central Islip. The rapper said in the courtroom, “I only ever wanted to help my family. I never asked myself if it was all the way right.”
