Ranbir Kapoor ignited rumors of making sequel of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Recently during a virtual chat with his fans on Instagram Ranbir Kapoor has given a major hint of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel. He went on saying movie’s director Ayan Mukherjee has a script for yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani roles ‘Bunny’, ‘Naina’, ‘Avi’, ‘Aditi’ characters. He had planned about the the character’s ten years post forward in their lives. Even in 2018, Ranbir has mentioned about making a sequel of YJHD in one of his interviews.
Talking about the sequel when broached about YJHD, he said “I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel… Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters.”
Adding on to that, Ayan “Ayan is on the journey to make Brahmastra, which is very time-consuming. But we have often spoken about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2. He also has an idea for it and he seldom says we should have just done that it would be an easier film. More easier than Brahmastra, because he is going quite crazy, making this film. You never know. Maybe between Brahmastra Part 1 and 2, we get a window of six months.” he said during the promotions of Brahmastra.
YJHD is the story based on group of four friends of different set who go for a adventure trip and get to know little personal aspects of each other. After the long time they reunite and equation change according the time. Film was released on 2013 which was a huge blockbuster among youngsters produced by Karan Johar and Eros International. Currently Ranbir is working for his next with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie titled “Animal”. This movie stars Rashmika Mandanna playing as the female lead and love interest of the actor. It also has senior actors like Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol as key roles. Animal will be releasing in theatres on august 11, 2023.
