Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born is an South Korean television series written by Choi Hyo-bi and helmed by Jung Ji-in based on Jeong Nyeon novel by Seo Ireh Namon. The periodic drama is set in the 1950 and will offer a unique take on displaying the hardships of a woman during that time.

Kim Tae-ri as Yoon Jeong-nyeon, A pansori genius girl who came to Seoul from Mokpo on her own to become a Korean traditional opera actress, Shin Ye-eun as Heo Yeong-seo ,A trainee and excellent at singing, dancing, and acting. The series follows the Korean War in the 1950s, Jeong-nyeon (Kim Tae-ri), a girl born with a talent for singing, entered the Yeoseong Gukgeuk troupe and grew up in it.

She is known for her outstanding performance in the feature films like The Handmaiden , Little Forest , and Space Sweepers , as well as the television series Mr. Sunshine , Twenty-Five Twenty-One , and Revenant .She won Best Actress – Television award at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards for her stellar performance in the horror series Revenant.
Kim Tae Ri starrer is based on a webtoon of the same Korean title by Seo Ireh and Namon, it depicts the entry and growth of a girl born with a talent for singing in the 1950s. The Korean drama is also defined as a musical drama that will also include a subplot depicting the relationship dynamic between female characters.
The drama is set to premiere on tvN on October 12, 2024, and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20.
