Long Wait Ahead: Euphoria S3 release date pushed

Due to the ongoing Writers’ strike, many film and television productions have been halted. As the Writers Guild of America (WGA) continues their strike, fan-favorite shows such as Evil, Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Yellowjackets, Abbott Elementary, and many more have delayed their production.

The recent show to join this list is HBO’s Euphoria. According to HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi, season 3 of Euphoria will ideally be released in 2025.  “Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts,” Orsi said.

“We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol”, she added. Not only the writers’ strike but Zendaya’s packed schedule and Sam Levinson’s preoccupation with the upcoming show, The Idol will delay the production.

Fans are frustrated as they were hoping to watch the show without any delay at least this time around. The second season which came out in January of 2022 also faced a delay of 2 and a half year gap due to the pandemic.

Starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney, “Euphoria” follows a group of high school students as they navigate the challenges of adolescence. The series explores themes of addiction, mental health, sexuality, and the pressures of modern youth.
