We have been seeing for years that male and female actors are never paid equally in the Indian film industry. Male actors generally receive higher pay cheques than female actors.
This has been an issue for many years, and few actresses have expressed disappointment regarding the same. Because, though both the actors have done the same hard work, and invested the same amount of time and energy, they would never receive the same amount.
Recently, In an interview, Priyanka Chopra opened up about pay parity, and she told how she has been working in the film industry for 22 years till date, ‘Citadel series is the first project where she has received equal pay as her male co-actor. She also spoke about how she have never had pay parity in Bollywood and she would get paid about 10% of the salary of her male co-actor. She also told that actresses of her generation have opened up and asked them for equal pay but they have never received it.
