The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, is an upcoming spinoff exploring the answers to Rick and Michonne’s fate. This time, it’s the final trailer for the Rick and Michonne spinoff series. In it, we glimpse what’s to come with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) as they navigate various perils and the massive, militaristic CRM.
The first season will have six episodes. Based solely on their hearts and beliefs, the two estranged lovers kill and fight battalions of the walking dead like never before, desperate for one another before they end up becoming the living dead- survivors who are alive but lack life in them.
I don’t think Rick and Michonne have romantic chemistry at all. They have friend chemistry. They are good pals, steadfast companions, and I’m sure they’d fight and die for one another in a heartbeat. But the show time-jumped them together an episode after Rick’s previous love interest, Jessie, was killed off.
In many ways, the undead hordes are just a moving set-piece for the dramas, friendships, and relationships between these people we care about. So yes, I do think chemistry matters, and I don’t think this show is very good at establishing it, and that makes the premise of The Ones Who Live a lot weaker than it ought to be.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will drop on AMC and AMC+ on February 25, 2024. A streaming platform for India has not been confirmed but is expected to be declared soon. As for VPN users, the entertainment world is your oyster, including this show.
