Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Budget and Box Office Preview

Ajay Devgn and Neeraj Pandey’s first collaboration, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, is set to release on August 2, 2024. This romantic thriller stars Ajay Devgn alongside Tabu, Saiee Manjrekar, and Shantanu Maheshwari in pivotal roles. The film has received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). And has a runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes (145 minutes). The anticipation for this film is high, given the star-studded cast and the reputation of the director.

Screen Count and Advance Bookings

The film is being distributed in India by Pen Marudhar and is expected to be released on 2000 screens across the country, with a total of 2500 screens worldwide. Advance bookings for Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha began on Wednesday, but the response has been lukewarm. As of Thursday, the film had sold 2500 tickets in the top three national chains, PVRInox and Cinepolis. The pre-sales are projected to close around the 7500 ticket mark, which is comparable to the pre-sales of Akshay Kumar’s film Sarfira.

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Box Office Predictions

The pre-sales figures suggest a modest opening for Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, with first-day business expected to be around Rs 2.50 crore. However, positive word-of-mouth could push the film’s earnings towards the Rs 3 crore mark. The film is being released with a flat Rs 150 off incentive, but this offer has had little impact on drawing audiences to the cinema halls so far. There is hope that the incentive might attract some walk-in audience on the day of release.

Industry Expectations and Expert Opinions

Despite the initial lukewarm response, industry experts like Taran Adarsh are optimistic. Adarsh predicts that the opening will be higher than Sarfira, estimating it to be around Rs 4-4.50 crore. He acknowledges the lack of buzz but expresses faith in the combination of Neeraj Pandey, Ajay Devgn, and Tabu. Distributor Raj Bansal also believes the film will open better than Sarfira. And expects a significant jump in collections on the second day if the film is well-received. However, Adarsh emphasizes that the film needs a substantial jump over the weekend to succeed. Noting that Ajay Devgn’s fee for the film is on the higher side.
