Shriya Saran was last seen in ‘Showtime’ an Indian Hindi-language drama television series directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar and the last time she was seen in a Tamil movie was in 2017 with “Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan” also known as AAA, romantic action comedy film, directed by Adhik Ravichandran alongside Silambarasan and Tamannaah Bhatia.
The Beauty, Shriya Saran now returns to the Tamil cinema after 7 years with Suriya’s 44. The official announcement of her social appearance is yet to be made by the makers but recent reports have reported that the portions of her song were recently shot in Ooty.
Suriya 44 is the working title of an upcoming Indian Tamil-language gangster film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainment. The film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Sujith Shankar, Thamizh, Ramachandran Durairaj, Prem Kumar, Sandeep Raj, Remya Suresh and MD Asif.
The film was officially announced in March 2023 under the tentative title Suriya 44, as it is the actor’s 44th film as the lead actor, along with the tagline Love, Laughter and War. Principal photography commenced in June 2024 in Port Blair. It was shot in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ooty and Kerala. The film will have music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography handled by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali.
As per the previous updates, Suriya, and the team wrapped up the second schedule of the film, which was shot at the hill station Suriya had met with an accident, during the filming of an action scene, in Ooty.
