Tollywood actor Nani is known for his natural acting and a great selection of scripts. He is also known for trying out some interesting films like ‘Jersey’ and ‘Pilla Zamindar’ that cater to all sections of the audience. Though he had some setbacks in his career, Nani is known for his script judgment.
Unfortunately, Nani rejected a classic love story in his career. Yes, and it was none other than Raja Rani. Director Atlee narrated the script of Raja Rani to Nani and asked him for Jai’s character, but the star hero turned it down due to his busy schedule at the time. Nani was Atlee’s choice for the movie. Later, Atlee continued it with Aarya and Jai and the film ended up as a classic blockbuster.
Made with a budget of Rs. 10 crores, the film almost collected Rs 80 crores. Also, Raja Rani’s soundtrack for the film was widely acclaimed, with 4 out of 5 songs going on to become chart-busters. Raja Rani thus emerged as the third blockbuster in Arya’s career after Arinthum Ariyamalum and Boss Engira Bhaskaran as well as the fifth most successful film of the year.
