One such producer and filmmaker who comes to mind while acknowledging the success of serials is Ekta Kapoor.
Ekta has produced top serials like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kaleerein, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kumkum Bhagya Kundali Bhagya, 6 seasons of Naagin, Brahmarakshas 2 Yeh Hai Chahatein a spin-off of Yeh Hain Mohabatein starring Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi. Ekta also produced films various films from The Dirty Picture starring Vidya Balan to Ek Villan starring Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra.
