Renowned actor Kamal Haasan created quite a buzz among movie enthusiasts by announcing a new collaboration with legendary director Mani Ratnam, 35 years after their iconic film, Nayakan. The excitement reached new heights when the duo officially unveiled the title of their latest venture – “Thug Life” – through an action-packed teaser, indicating a unique gangster drama.

The project commenced in January 2024, and the team has been tirelessly filming since then. Recently,an exclusively report stated that actor Rohit Saraf has joined the cast of “Thug Life” and has already begun shooting his scenes.

A source close to the production revealed that Rohit Saraf has been cast in a significant role in “Thug Life.” The insider shared, “Rohit is a huge admirer of both Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan. This project is a dream come true for him. He has already started filming and will portray a key catalyst in the storyline,” the source said. This casting decision has added another layer of excitement to the already highly anticipated film.

A Star-Studded Ensemble for “Thug Life”

“Thug Life” boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Kamal Haasan, Simbu, Trisha Krishnan, Nassar, Joju George, and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles. According to the source, the film promises numerous surprises and aims to deliver an extraordinary cinematic experience. Currently, the shooting is in full swing, and Mani Ratnam is expected to wrap up filming by August 2024. The production team is targeting a December 2024 release date.

“Thug Life,” produced by Raaj Kamal Films in collaboration with Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies, is one of the most eagerly awaited films in Indian cinema, boasting a grand scale of production. Although the plot details remain confidential, the film will mark Rohit Saraf’s debut in the realm of Pan-India films. In addition to “Thug Life,” Rohit Saraf is also set to appear in the Karan Johar-produced film, “Sunny Sanskari Ki Meenakumari,” scheduled for release on April 19, 2025.
